Purpose and scope of data processing
This website is operated to present my professional profile. Personal data is only actively collected if you contact me by email or LinkedIn. When the site is accessed, technically necessary connection data (IP address, browser type, timestamp) is temporarily processed by the hosting provider.
Google Analytics
This website uses Google Analytics, a web analytics service provided by Google Ireland Limited, to count visits and understand usage. Google Analytics is only activated after your explicit consent via the cookie notice. Until then, no analytics cookies are set. With consent, information about your use of the website (including truncated IP address) is transmitted to Google servers in the US and stored there. Legal basis is Art. 6 (1)(a) GDPR (consent). You can withdraw your consent at any time by deleting cookies in your browser and reloading the site.
YouTube videos
This website embeds videos from YouTube (Google Ireland Limited) as previews. When you visit the site, only the preview image is loaded from Google servers, transmitting among other things your IP address. The actual player only loads when you actively play a video, in privacy-enhanced mode (youtube-nocookie.com), in which, according to Google, YouTube does not set personalisation cookies before playback; during playback further data may be transmitted and Google may set its own cookies or similar technologies. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in an appealing presentation of content (Art. 6 (1)(f) GDPR); by actively playing a video you consent to the data processing by Google (Art. 6 (1)(a) GDPR).
Hosting
The website is hosted by a service provider in the European Union. The host processes access data (IP address, timestamp, requested resources) solely for providing and securing the service. Legal basis is Art. 6 (1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in stable operation).
Your rights
You have the right to information, correction, deletion, restriction of processing, data portability and objection to the processing of your personal data. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the competent supervisory authority. An email to hi@sophiahecht.com is sufficient for requests.
